Rebound in stocks after U.S. jobs data, Chinese stock rise

Energy companies declined Friday as the price of crude oil fell further. Crude oil is trading at about $33 a barrel, the lowest price since 2004. Marathon Oil sank 6 percent.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 21 points, or 0.1 percent, at 16,536 as of 11:45 a.m. Friday on Wal Street.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index slipped a point to 1,941. The Nasdaq composite was up two points at 4,692. China’s market also rose. The benchmark index in Shanghai gained 2 percent. Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 2.14 percent.
