Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby will open a second Long Island location in Bay Shore in early 2018, according to the company. The chain, which has a location in Commack, will be opening in a former Pathmark store that has been vacant since 2015.
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace

Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace is opening its sixth Long Island location, in Melville, on Dec. 1, 2017, taking the place of a former Waldbaum's. The Farmingdale-based chain has stores in East Meadow, Port Jefferson Station, Port Washington, Massapequa and Smithtown, as well as one in New Jersey.
Ocean State Job Lot

Ocean State Job Lot opened its third Long Island location in November 2017, in a former Bob's Stores location in East Northport. The Rhode Island-based retailer also has locations in Centereach and North Babylon.
Newbury Comics

Newbury Comics, the retailer of comic books, music, movies and other pop-culture items that was founded in Boston in 1978, opened a location at Smith Haven mall in Lake Grove in November 2017. Its first location outside New England opened at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in August 2016.
Dollar General

Dollar General, a Tennessee-based discount retailer, opened its first three stores on Long Island, with locations in Patchogue (pictured) and Lindenhurst opening in October 2017, and one in Shirley in November 2017.
Calzedonia

Calzedonia, an Italian legwear and beachwear retailer, opened its second location on Long Island at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove in October 2017. It also operates a location at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City.
Intimissimi

Intimissimi, which also has a location at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station, opened its second store on Long Island at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove in October 2017. The Italian retailer specializes in lingerie.
Everafter / Westside Shop

Everafter, a kids boutique for children ages 4 to 14, opened its third location at Greenvale's Wheatley Plaza in October 2017. The company also opened its first The Westside shop in the same location, with California-inspired men's and women's clothing.
Target

Target opened a small-market store in Port Washington on Oct. 18, 2017. The location will be the chain's 25th on Long Island, and replaces a King Kullen that closed in 2015.
Apple Store

H&M

Swedish clothing retailer H & M is reopening its Massapequa location in Westfield Sunrise on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, adding 8,000 square feet over the old location, according to the company. The retailer also has five locations on Long Island -- in Garden City, Hicksville, Lake Grove, Riverhead and Valley Stream -- and 494 locations across the country.
Barami

Fashion retailer Barami, started by three sisters from Great Neck, is opening a location in Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in September 2017. The retailer also has locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Deer Park, according to its website.
Glowgolf Mini Golf

Glowgolf Mini Golf opened in September 2017 at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, and the indoor mini-golf chain also has another location on Long Island at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City.

L.L. Bean

L.L. Bean, the Maine-based retailer, opened its first full-fledged Long Island store on June 23, 2017 at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove. It previously opened a kiosk within the mall in October 2016.
adidas

The clothing and shoe manufacturer adidas opened a store at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station on May 18, 2017. The German company also has a store at Roosevelt Field in Garden City and an outlet store at Deer Park.
QuickChek
Convenience store chain QuickChek opened its second Long Island location on May 2, 2017, in Bethpage at Hempstead Turnpike and Hicksville Road. The convenience store also features six gasoline pumps.
Dick's Sporting Goods

Dick's Sporting Goods opened two new Long Island locations on April 21, 2017 -- this one in the Westfield Sunrise in Massapequa, and another at the former Sears location in the Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore.
Calzedonia

While the Italian leg wear and beachwear brand Calzedonia has 4,200 locations in more than 45 countries, it opened its first U.S. location at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in April 2017.
New Balance Factory Store
