Report: Target store fires pro-union worker

A report in Crain's New York Business says that Tashawna Green has been fired.
The 21-year-old Jamaica, Queens, woman was a public voice for workers who sought -- and failed -- to unionize at the Target store in Valley Stream.
She was featured in several Newsday stories and in other reports by The Associated Press, The New York Times, the Star-Tribune of Minneapolis.
The Crain's report was written by Daniel Massey, a former Newsday stringer.
She "no longer has her $8-per-hour job. A Target supervisor fired her earlier this month, seven weeks after workers voted not to join United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1500," the Crain's report says.
Target, in a statement, said Green was fired because she “recently acted in an overly hostile, disruptive manner that is inconsistent with Target's policies," the report says.
"The union will seek to reverse her dismissal," Crain's adds.
