A new reservation system is causing problems for thousands of airline passengers in Mexico.

Aeromexico says it had to cancel more than 30 flights on Monday and more than a third of its other flights were delayed. Crowds of frustrated passengers have jammed its counters at Mexico City’s international airport.

It says it is making progress in its switch to a new reservation system and hopes for normal operations on Tuesday.

The airline has issued statements urging passengers on domestic flights to get to the airport three hours early. For international passengers, it urges arriving four hours before a flight.
