Si-Tex Marine Electronics, a Riverhead maker of fishfinders, autopilots, compasses and other marine devices, has won a contract to sell and service the products of a major Japanese maritime electronics company.
Si-Tex will also provide U.S. customer support for its new partner, Tokyo-based Koden Electronics Co. Ltd.
Koden is “a world-leading provider of heavy-duty commercial electronics for the workboat, high seas, commercial fisheries and river transportation markets," Si-Tex said.
Koden’s products include marine radar, sonar and echosounder. It also makes marine GPS sensors and navigation systems, and has major sales divisions for commercial fishing, port security, river transportation and offshore workboats.
In a separate civil engineering category, Koden makes an ultrasonic drilling monitor for high-rise construction and structural foundations.
“Koden and Si-Tex have a long-established business relationship, as many of the recreational marine electronics products sold by Si-Tex are manufactured at Koden facilities in Japan,” the companies said in a joint news release.
