Riverhead session on pet businesses

Long Island Pet Professionals has a new event, to be held tonight in Riverhead, aimed at helping small business owners improve and expand.

Among the subjects to be covered:
* Developing a marketing plan
* Defining the audience-target market
* Developing the brand through logo design, slogans, catchphrases and "elevator pitches"
* Maintaining consistency
* Web presence/social media

It starts at 7 p.m. at Digger's Pub and Restaurant, 58 West Main St., in Riverhead.

Tonight's speaker is Judy McCleery, owner of Puparazzi Pet Photography. Members pay $30, non-members $40. The event is limited to 40 attendees. RSVP to Nancy@LongIslandPetProfessionals.com.
