Nassau County homeowners coping with damage from superstorm Sandy can get advice in Merrick on Tuesday.

A forum will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in the clubhouse of the Merrick Golf Course, 2550 Clubhouse Rd., #1.

Presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. The topics to be discussed include mental health and stress reduction, legal rights, flood insurance, challenging real estate taxes, contractor fraud, home elevation and accessibility, budget management, financing options, loan programs and disaster planning.

The event is sponsored by Nassau County Legis. Steve Rhoads (R-Bellmore), Supervisor Anthony Santino of the Town of Hempstead and state Sen. Michael Venditto (R-Massapequa).
