Save the date for LI Tweetup

An end-of-summer Long Island Tweetup is planned for Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. at a site still to be determined.

A tweetup is where folks who know one another online through Twitter or Facebook actually meet face-to-face. “We break bread and get to know each other, sometimes for the first time,” says Jeff Namnum, one of the group’s founders and known on Twitter as @namnum.

“ ‘Newbies’ in particular have a great experience because they can see that getting on Twitter and Facebook can translate to making real and lasting human connections, on and off the computer. Everyone is welcome,” he says.
