The U.S. Small Business Administration is accepting online nominations for the 2015 National Small Business Week Awards, including Small Business Person of the Year.

This is the third year the agency has accepted nominations through its online portal to recognize the achievements of America's small businesses along with their contributions to the local, state and national economy.

Next year, National Small Business Week will be celebrated May 4 to May 8. There are some 28 million small businesses in the country, SBA said.

In addition to the national awards, the New York District Office is also offering SBA awards, including the Young Entrepreneur Award and Veteran Small Business Champion.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. Nominations may be submitted online at awards.sba.gov or mailed to SBA's New York District Office, 26 Federal Plaza, Room 3100, New York, NY 10278. For more information, call 212-264-9487.
