High-school seniors with a yen for entrepreneurship can turn that heart-felt desire into money for college.

The National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation is accepting applications for its 2011 Young Entrepreneur Awards. High-school seniors with entrepreneurial aspirations are encouraged to apply online for a chance to win scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. The deadline for applying is Dec. 15.

Last year more than 140 students nationwide received scholarships. The foundation started the awards program to raise awareness among the nation's youth of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in growing America’s economy.
