School-Business Partnerships' new top execs
The Kings Park-based School-Business Partnerships of Long Island Inc. has new leadership.
Scott Schuler is the group's acting president and Ginette Greco is executive director.
Schuler, of Ronkonkoma, has been a member of SBPLI's development council since 2000. In 2006, he was named volunteer of the year. He also served as a mentor for the Hauppauge High School robotics team from 2000-2008 and for the Connetquot High School robotics team in 2010, the association said. He has worked at Ziehm Medical LLC; and Festo Corp., both in Hauppauge.
“SBPLI was organized to prepare today’s students for the workforce of tomorrow by creating partnerships between schools and businesses," Schuler said in a prepared statement.
" Having been with SBPLI for over 10 years, including having worked directly with hundreds of students within the robotics program, I have seen the positive results first hand. I am honored to lead an organization known to be preparing students for the high-technology workforce of tomorrow."
Greco, of Smithtown, is an experienced office manager, the organization said. As executive director, she will be responsible for the organization’s day-to-day operations and coordinating the annual Long Island Regional FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition and FIRST LEGO League qualifying rounds and championship tournament.
"This new position will allow me to help secure more funding for SBPLI for the continuance of these wonderful robotics programs," Greco said.
