The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Local 355 of the United Service Workers union will begin taking applications Monday for two sprinkler fitter and two steamfitter apprenticeships, officials said.

Applications can be obtained at the Local 355 Training Center, 267 Knickerbocker Ave. in Bohemia, from 3 to 7 p.m. on weekdays. The forms must be completed at the center by Oct. 28.

Applicants must be 18 or older, provide proof of completion of high school or GED courses, be physically able to do the work, be able to read and understand instructions and warnings, pass a drug test and have reliable transportation to work sites on Long Island.
