Sponsors and exhibitors are still being sought for the North Shore Land Alliance's small farm summit at SUNY Old Westbury next week.

The event is to be April 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Attendance cost, including lunch, is $25 until Friday's early registration deadline; after that date the price is $35.

It will be "a day of education, discussion, and networking to build community awareness," the alliance says in a news release.

The goals are to increase public support for local food production, preservation of farmland, reducing food waste, recycling, water use and agricultural education.

For information about sponsorship, exhibitor space or tickets, call (516) 626-0908, or send an email to andrea@northshorelandalliance.org.

Admission is free for college students.
