Snake Tray, Gundy Power Coating to build joint facility in Bay Shore

Two companies will build a new $2.5 million manufacturing site in Bay Shore under a new agreement with the Islip Industrial Development Agency.

The companies, Snake Tray and Gundy Powder Coating, agreed to jointly purchase a new manufacturing site at 239 South Fehr Way to expand their operations. Snake Tray manufacturers and installs cables for solar power systems in the rail and datacom industries. Gundy Powder makes products for metal manufacturing, solar, cable management and commercial building product industries. The new site will retain 35 jobs and create 17 more jobs.

“These are two companies specializing in technologies that are only going to grow more prevalent as time goes on,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter in a release. “I’m proud of our IDA for leading the way on this project and ensuring that our Town remains a competitive and business-friendly environment.”

The two companies will see about $250,000 in property tax savings, and save about $21,000 in mortgage recording taxes, according to the IDA.
