Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s administration won approval for its plan to use federal Community Block Grants to aid Sandy victims. (Nov. 8, 2012) Credit: AP

State officials will be in four local communities this week, between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on most days, to help homeowners and business people harmed by superstorm Sandy.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's administration won approval for its plan to use federal Community Block Grants to aid Sandy victims. Those seeking assistance must apply to the state. Representatives of the Department of Financial Services will be in a mobile command center Tuesday at 500 Sunrise Hwy. in Valley Stream.

On Wednesday they will be at 492 Atlantic Ave. in East Rockaway. On Thursday they will be at the Freeport Memorial Library, 144 W. Merrick Rd. in Freeport. They will be in Amityville on Friday in the municipal lot located on Bennett Place and Montauk Highway, and then on Saturday at 351 Merrick Rd. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Aid applications are also being accepted at nysandyhelp. ny .gov
