Steve Rossetti resigns from Suffolk IDA board
Steve Rossetti, secretary of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency, abruptly resigned this week, saying he wanted to pursue other public service activities.
Rossetti, a business broker in Huntington, had served on the IDA board for eight years.
Board members are appointed by the county legislature and are not paid.
In a statement read to his fellow board members Thursday, Rossetti called for larger tax breaks to attract expanding companies that are not currently operating on Long Island.
He also urged the IDA board to "remain autonomous from influence" from the administration of Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. The IDA is independent of Bellone.
