Two major centers at Stony Brook University will host a Technology Entrepreneurship Symposium next month for entrepreneurs, early phase companies and inventors.

The free event will be held on Nov. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the New York Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) building at Stony Brook University, 1500 Stony Brook Rd. in Stony Brook.

The event is a collaboration between CEWIT and the Center for Advanced Technology in Diagnostic Tools and Sensor Systems (Sensor CAT).

The keynote address at 10 a.m. will focus on why entrepreneurship is important for Long Island. The symposium will also include seminars on patents, crowdfunding and venture capital funding. Information will also be provided about the university’s resources for companies.
