Stop & Shop customers can once again use the grocer’s website and app to make purchases after recent glitches made access difficult, the company said.
The grocery chain said a recent network issue caused its website and app to malfunction, though it did not provide additional details on what caused the problem.
The company emphasized that its website and app were working and could be used for online delivery and pickup orders.
“We thank our customers for their patience and understanding and look forward to serving them online again,” the company said in a statement. “We also extend our sincere thanks to our associates for their hard work, dedication and tireless efforts to help restore these services.”
During the outage, customers who made qualifying purchases can earn points through the grocer's GO Rewards loyalty program, the company said. Unused GO Points that were set to expire at the end of this month will be available until Nov. 30.
Long Island is home to roughly 40 Stop & Shop locations, including in Farmingdale, Levittown, and Smithtown, according to the company's website.
