Patchogue-based Stout Construction has been awarded a $750,567 contract for electrical work and the installation of decking at the Mascot Dock and Marina in the village.

The Patchogue Village board of trustees unanimously approved the move at a recent meeting.

William Marquarndt, co-owner of Stout Construction Inc., said on Thursday of last week that his company plans to build a boardwalk around the perimeter of the dock. He said no timetable has been set for construction to begin.

Stout Construction has completed projects of similar size and nature and has its qualifications in order, village officials said.

Mascot Dock and Marina is near the end of South Ocean Avenue and stretches into Patchogue Bay.
