The former Strike Arcade and Bowling building in New Hyde Park is getting new life after being vacant for 15 years.

Pickle N Par Club, which will have indoor pickleball courts and golf simulators, is set to open this fall in the former arcade and bowling alley building, said Andrew Ritter, general manager.

Pickle N Par has two existing Long Island locations — one opened in Melville in 2019 and the other opened in Smithtown in 2023, Ritter said.

Located at 1330 Union Turnpike, the New Hyde Park venue will be the clubs' flagship location because it will be the biggest and "most premier" facility of the three, he said.

"We anticipate a high membership volume because of the location, population density and the amount of people playing pickleball in that area," he said.

Strike Arcade and Bowling operated from 2002 to 2011 in the New Hyde Park building, which is owned by Caroldee Realty in New Hyde Park.

Except for the entrance, the interior of the 53,150-square-foot building is underground.

The new Pickle N Par venue, which will offer memberships and non-member entrance, will have 14 indoor courts for pickleball and also host clinics and leagues, Ritter said.

In addition, the venue will have three golf simulators offering driving ranges, target practice and nine- and 18-hole playing, he said. The venue also will have a high-end coffee bar, he said.

Pickle N Par is owned by a group of investors, led by Nassau County resident Tony Biancaniello, a commercial real estate broker, Ritter said.

Building plans for the Pickle N Par project were submitted to the Town of North Hempstead for approval in August 2024, and the town’s board of zoning appeals approved the venue as a permitted use in March 2025, Glenn Norjen, deputy commissioner of the town's building department, said in an email.

In January, the town issued building permits for interior alterations for the planned venue, he said.

Pickleball is a sport played with a paddle and small plastic ball that has similarities to badminton, tennis and table tennis.

Nationwide, pickleball was the fastest-growing sport in the United States in 2025 for the fifth consecutive year, according to a report from the Sports & Fitness Industry Association, based in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Last year, 24.3 million Americans participated in the sport, a 22.8% increase from the year before, the report said.
