The Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency will hold a special meeting Tuesday "to discuss personnel," according to public notice.
The agency has been looking for an executive director and chief executive since last month when Bruce E. Ferguson announced that he would be stepping down, effective Aug. 31. He did so under pressure from Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, who wants the job to go to political strategist and fundraiser Anthony Manetta.
The IDA’s board of directors has interviewed Manetta and sought other applicants as well. Those interested in the position, which pays between $110,000 and $130,000 per year, should send a cover letter and resume to the agency by Thursday.
Applications should be mailed to the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency, H. Lee Dennison Building (third floor), 100 Veterans Memorial Hwy., P.O. Box 6100, Hauppauge, NY 11788.
The board also must select a new chairman because Jim Morgo resigned with Ferguson, who plans to become a consultant after nearly 30 years at the IDA.
