More than 30 Suffolk chambers of commerce have been invited by the county executive to cross-pollinate ideas and cross-market services designed to help local businesses prosper.

Suffolk Executive Steve Levy cast it as a “landmark” meeting, the latest step from his Economic Development Consortium, created a year ago to hear the business community’s needs and come up with ways to sustain economic growth.

Discussions are set for 6-9 p.m. Thursday at county offices in Hauppauge.

“Our mission is to unify the chambers’ collective messages and to create one voice that reflects common goals and objectives,” the executive said. “This will take us a long way as we strive to identify issues that could negatively impact businesses in Suffolk and as we work with others to make New York more business friendly.”
