Suffolk County Community College in Selden announced three executive appointments.

Nathaniel Pugh Jr. , left, has been appointed vice president for planning and institutional effectiveness. The Coram resident was most recently a senior consultant for the Atlanta Higher Education Group. He has held management positions at Clark Atlanta University and teaching positions in several higher-education institutions in Georgia and Tennessee.

James D. Amoroso, center, has been named vice president for business and financial affairs, and he will serve as the college's chief financial officer. He has held senior financial management positions at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point over the course of 25 years. He lives in Islip Terrace.

John Lombardo has been promoted to associate vice president for workforce and economic development. The Brightwaters resident will serve as the college's chief resource to the business and government sectors regarding education, training and related support services for the development of a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. He was promoted from the position of director of corporate training.
