An advertising video for the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency has won top honors from a trade group representing IDAs across New York State, officials said.
The state Economic Development Council gave its “best in class” award to the Suffolk IDA video, which features top executives from local employers talking about how IDA tax breaks helped them expand in the county.
Awards applications were judged by a jury of four marketing and public relations experts, according to council executive director Brian McMahon.
The Suffolk video, which comes in two-minute and four-minute formats, was part of a 2016 advertising campaign that aimed to attract businesses to the county from outside Long Island.
The $200,000 campaign included online videos and radio spots. It was funded by fees paid bythe IDA’s clients, not taxpayers.
“This video is a great tool to highlight the tremendous companies and job opportunities that exist in Suffolk thanks, in part, to IDA assistance,” said IDA Executive Director Anthony J. Catapano.
The video includes testimonials from Canon U.S.A. and Marchon Eyewear, both in Melville, D’Addario & Co. in East Farmingdale, and Contract Pharmacal Corp. and Health Level One, both in Hauppauge. It was devised by the IDA’s marketing firm, Zimmerman/Edelson Inc. of Great Neck.
