Taxpayers can get help, file for free at Bellmore workshop
The state Tax Department will hold a free tax assistance workshop on Saturday in Bellmore, officials announced.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be at the Bellmore Memorial Library, 2288 Bedford Ave. It is for taxpayers with adjusted gross income of $64,000 or less in 2016.
These individuals may file their returns free of charge using software that will be available at the workshop. The filing deadline is April 18.
Participants should arrive with a copy of their 2015 tax return, a driver’s license or other state-issued identification, W-2 form and Social Security information.
