Bank operating from trailer
A TD Bank branch in Lawrence began operating out of a trailer this week as repairs continued on the branch office, which was damaged by superstorm Sandy. The mobile facility is in the parking lot of the branch's building on Rockaway Turnpike. The temporary trailer will provide the same services as a regular TD Bank location. The Lawrence branch saw heavy water damage and repairs are ongoing, said officials at the Cherry Hill, N.J.-based bank, which has 54 branches on Long Island. -- Lisa Du

No budget deal at EU meet
A summit of the European Union's 27 national leaders, charged with agreeing on a long-term budget for the bloc, broke up Friday without reaching a deal. Coming just days after the 17 eurogroup finance ministers failed, yet again, to agree on the conditions for releasing badly needed bailout money for Greece, the failure of the two-day summit raises questions about how the bloc makes important decisions. In most cases, unanimity is required, meaning that each country wields veto power. -- AP
