A+ Technology and Security Solutions Inc. has secured a contract worth up to $360,000 to provide wireless surveillance and security systems to the Hampton Business District project near Gabreski Airport.

The money for the contract comes from a state Department of Transportation grant given to the developing business park in the East End. The first order of surveillance and security equipment from A+ Technology will be worth up to $319,000.

"Our goal is to continue to grow on Long Island. Our roots are here," said David Antar, president of A+ Technology. He added that the company has recently done business with local townships by providing technical security and educational tools to schools and other operations.

The occasion was marked Thursday by a visit from Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, Chief Deputy County Executive Chris Kent and Economic Development Commissioner Yves Michel to A+ Technology's offices in Bay Shore to tour their operations and watch demos of the company's various product offerings in security surveillance and educational technology.

The $43-million development near Gabreski Airport in Westhampton came to fruition two years ago when Levy leased the property to Rechler Equity Partners to develop the 50 acres of land into a business and technology park. The district will provide a space for various operations such as green energy companies, film productions and biotechnology research, among others, and is expected to create over 600 jobs.

Construction for the Hampton Business District has already begun, and Antar said he expects to be on site installing A+ Technology's equipment in September.

"We have a local company that's providing a very needed service for our Hamptons Industrial Park that's in the making right now," Levy said. "Why would we want to go to some out-of-state firm for surveillance for our local industrial park? It's a nice symbiotic relationship."
