If you haven't had the pleasure yet of viewing a touchdown on a touch screen, trust us: you will during this upcoming football season. Here are mobile apps that deliver stats and highlights, help you manage your fantasy squad on the go and even let you watch full games if you're signed up with a certain satellite provider:

NFL '12
(iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android; free)

The league's official app, NFL '12, delivers live scores and stats as well as the latest news from NFL.com. Fans of specific teams can customize NFL '12 to feature their favorite teams, and for a $29.99 one-time fee, users can get access to NFL Audio Pass and follow games live. The app also features a premium video service ($9.99 for full season, $1.99 for weekly), which gives users access to highlight shows like "Thursday Night Football Live" and "Fantasy Live."

NFL Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet 2012
(iPhone, iPod Touch; $2.99)

Being a fantasy football GM is hard work, but the job is a little easier with NFL Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet 2012. The app keeps you informed while you draft, including a deep customization system so players are ranked appropriately for your league's scoring rules. You can also set starter position limits that are specific to your league and you can even keep track of your available budget if you're drafting in auction format. Cheat Sheet also includes player stats for the past three years, AccuScore projections for the 2012 season and consistency rankings for each player available.

College Football Radio & Live Scores
(iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad; $0.99)

College Football Radio
(Android; $0.99)

If college football is your game, College Football Radio & Live Scores is a great app to include in your mobile playbook. College Football Radio has live radio broadcasts and podcasts for NCAA Division 1-A teams. That means you can follow teams in the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, SEC, Pac-12, the MAC and more with ease.

NFL Sunday Ticket
(iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android; free)

The most avid football fans likely have a DirecTV account for Sunday Ticket access, which has been extended to mobile devices. With the NFL Sunday Ticket app, you will get live streams of every supported game, including the Red Zone Channel, along with player and team stats, scores, standings, schedules and game highlights. The app only works for existing DirecTV subscribers who pay separately for the NFL Sunday Ticket.

StubHub
(iPhone, iPod Touch, Android; free)

As amazing as it is to view games on your mobile device, there is nothing like seeing the action live at the stadium. To buy or sell tickets to a football game, use the StubHub app. It's perhaps the largest fan-to-fan marketplace for event tickets. You can search by event or location, see your seats on the stadium seating chart and purchase a ticket right from your phone. If you want alerts for available tickets for your favorite team, set up a tracker. -- By Appolicious.com,

Secret shoppers

That personal touch from sales staff may be too personal for some shoppers. Market research firm Lab42 surveyed online shoppers and found 45 percent bought an item online they would not buy in person. And when they contact customer service, 41 percent preferred email, while 27 percent liked live chat and 25 percent opted for a phone call. -- Peter King

Photo synthesis

Google has added a picture function to its popular Translate app (Android 2.3 and above; free). Words in a photo snapped by the smartphone's camera can be translated into several languages by brushing a finger over the text. The app can be helpful for the traveler trying to decipher road signs or perfect for the French restaurant newbie considering the escargots. -- Peter King

Liquid asset

Outside of an adult sippy cup, there's little defense against the morning coffee spill. But a new keyboard may help avert disaster. Logitech's K310 Washable Keyboard ($40) continues operating even after a java dousing. Logitech says the keyboard can be hand washed or submerged in water, making removal of coffee stains -- or that stale muffin crumb making the space bar inoperable -- easy.  -- Peter King
