UPDATE:

Techcrunch is reporting that the new Facebook app, 'Breakup Notifier' got the boot from the social media site. The app attracted 100,000 users in less than 24 hours for a total 3,673,484 in less than a week after its release.

Facebook hasn't had a public response yet.

Do you have crushes on some of your Facebook friends but are  too lazy to keep  checking  their relationship status? Don’t worry, there’s an app for that, too.

The new Breakup Notifier alerts users to changes in their friends’ statuses. The app lets users select the friends whose love life they want to keep up on, and whenever the friends modify their relationship statuses on Facebook, the user is sent an e-mail.

"You like someone. They're in a relationship. Be the first to know when they're out of it," says the Breakup Notifier tagline.

The app is currently free.
