How to . . . enlarge Facebook photos

If you want to see your friends' Facebook photos full-size instead of a reduced version in the site's slideshow photo viewer, which traps the picture inside a black box with arrows on either side, obscuring part of the view, here are some simple remedies.

1. Click to open the picture, then refresh the page. If the photo is part of a set, you can click through the rest of the photos in the album without the black box appearing.

2. Click to open the picture, then press the F5 key. If the photo is part of a set, you can click through the rest of the photos in the album without the black box appearing.

3. Hold down the CTRL key while clicking to open the photo. The photo opens in a separate window without the black box. If the photo is part of a set, you can click through the rest of the photos in the album without the black box appearing.
