To commemorate the first moon landing, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum has a website where you can take the flight with Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin and Michael Collins.
1. Go to wechoosethe moon.org. The site, which is divided into 11 stages, from the blastoff of the rocket Apollo 11 to the landing of the lunar module Eagle on the moon, is best experienced full screen with volume maximized. To begin, click the Launch button.
2. The site uses ani- mation, archival photos, video and CAPCOM audio to recreate the experience. At each stage, there are photos and video -- most in color, and of the astronauts performing "everyday" functions like shaving. A mission status clock displays time elapsed.
3. At the final stage, make sure to witness Armstrong's first step on the moon and Aldrin joining him on the lunar surface -- it's still exhilarating. On completion, you can download a certificate saying you landed on the moon and returned safely to Earth.
