iBrowse: Beyoncé launches a Tumblr site
Hey, Beyoncé has a Tumblr!
B's site (beyonce.tumblr.com) launched on her favorite day -- which was 4/4, as fans of her album "4" know, and also happened to be her fourth wedding anniversary.
"This is my life, today, over the years -- through my eyes," she writes on the site. "This is where I share with you. This will continue to grow as I do."
Like so many personal Tumblrs, Beyoncé's is filled with vacation photos, snapshots with her husband and various candid shots -- including when she dressed up as Spider-Man, and pics of her nephew.
The Tumblr is a smart move for B. It's a way for her to let fans feel close to her while still limiting access to her private life, which she talks about less and less in public. Also, photos are much harder to misquote or take out of context than tweets. Look for celebrities and "celebrities," of all sorts, to follow B's lead onto the site.
Nintendo 3-D guides to the Louvre
For the Louvre, the existing audio guide is so 20th century.
So the famed Paris museum is going 3-D visual with its electronic guides in a deal with Japan's Nintendo to provide game consoles to help visitors who navigate its labyrinthine halls by the millions each year.
The game consoles launched last week with 700 recordings on works like the Mona Lisa. The guides offer glimpses of artistic touches that are tough for the naked eye to see -- like tiny details on towering tableaus in the museum's wood-paneled walls.
The guides, in seven languages, and accompanying headsets, cost $6.50.
