Lots of people love to play games on Facebook, and now it's getting a little easier to join in on the fun.

The social network just launched a new HTML5-powered cross-platform gaming experience called Instant Games. Available for mobile devices and the Web, the feature lets you easily discover, share, and play games on Messenger and your News Feed without having to install new apps.

At this point, there at 17 Instant Games available to play, including: Pac-Man, Galaga, Arkanoid, Space Invaders, Track & Field 100M, Words with Friends: Frenzy, Shuffle Cats Mini, EverWing, Hex, Endless Lake, Templar 2048, The Tribez: Puzzle Rush, 2020 Connect, Puzzle Bobble, Zookeeper, Brick Pop, and Wordalot Express. Facebook said that "many more" games are to come, so stay tuned.

On Messenger, Instant Games can be accessed through the new game controller icon just below where you type a message. Instant Games features score-based competitions, leaderboards, and group conversations, so you can challenge and compete against anyone on Messenger. You can also play Instant Games right on your Facebook News Feed, and bookmark your favorites to save them for later.

"We are always looking for ways to reduce player friction, and Instant Games on Facebook News Feed and Messenger is a wonderful solution that allows players to jump right in and immediately start playing," Wordalot Express developer MAG Interactive said in a statement. "We know our players well, and we know that they will love this new easy, streamlined approach to gaming on Facebook and Messenger too."

Instant Games is currently available in 30 countries for iOS 8 or later and Android 5 or later.
