These are the latest complementary games featuring the plentiful little pocket monsters. As in past Pokémon pairings, there are minor differences between the two versions (not all Pokémon are available in both, for example). The game play is likewise familiar and true to form: As rookie Pokémon trainers, players explore the world, battle rivals and wild Pokémon, and use Poké Balls to catch critters to train and set against enemies in turn-based battles.
