Resident Evil 6 is set to hit shelves in November. While we're still a long way off from the much anticipated release, Capcom released screenshots and details that should hold over even the most rabid fans of the survival horror franchise.
Story
The game takes place 10 years after the Raccoon City incident. The president of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind the virus outbreak. By the president’s side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Kennedy is forced to face a president transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision.
At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack.
In a first for the franchise, Resident Evil 6 sees series favorites Kennedy and Redfield come together to face this unprecedented threat.
Redesigned control system
Resident Evil 6 features an evolved control system that allows players to shoot while moving as well as slide, roll in any direction, and take cover; there's also an enhanced melee attack.
Characters
Leon S. Kennedy: Government agent. Since the nightmare that was Raccoon City, Kennedy has made it his life’s work to eradicate bioterrorism.
Helena Harper: Like Kennedy, she is a government agent, but she was in the process of transferring to the Secret Service to become one of the president's personal bodyguards.
Chris Redfield: The ex-S.T.A.R.S. member who continued the fight against bioterrorism.
Mysterious third protagonist: A mercenary engaged in a bloody conflict in Eastern Europe. We’re told that he is the man to save the world. While he doesn't understand the implications of this, he does immediately think how much money he can make from it.
Enemies
Zombies: They can now run, jump and even use weapons.
J’avo: They have the ability to regenerate, but major damage causes the affected body part to mutate into a number of varied forms, meaning players will have to rethink their strategy and adapt to this unpredictability.
