Snapchat premieres 3D World Lenses

Imagine having the power to make rainbows appear in the sky on command. Or, the ability to make flowers sprout up as you mosey through a field of grass. Now, anyone can acquire these special powers on Snapchat with 3D World Lenses.

These new Lenses will let you "paint the world around you with new 3D experiences," Snapchat wrote in a blog post. To find them, just tap the camera screen when Snapping with the rear-facing camera.

Snapchat first introduced World Lenses in November. They're similar to the familiar Selfie Lenses that let you add things like butterfly and flower crowns or dog ears to your face. But instead of changing up your mug, World Lenses let you alter the scenery around you. For a peek at the new 3D World Lenses, check out the video below.

Rival Instagram, meanwhile, introduced a handy new feature this week that lets you save and organize posts into private collections, a la Pinterest.

Instagram first introduced the ability to save posts in December, but they are displayed all together by default. Now you can tap and hold the bookmark icon underneath a post you want to save, then either add it to an existing collection or create a new one. You can create collections for anything you heart desires—vacation ideas, cute dogs, vegan spots, yoga poses, etc. Collections are private, so you're the only one who can see them; find them via the saved posts tab on your profile.
