Voila! #NewTwitter has arrived

When you logged on to Twitter today, were you prompted to access "#NewTwitter"?

You weren't alone. Twitter rolled out its new, more comprehensive user interface to the masses starting yesterday and continuing into this morning after weeks of beta testing.

In summary? A lot more information in a lot less space.

The new look, modeled similarly to TweetDeck, allows users to navigate mentions, retweets, searches and lists through a tabbed format.

Conceptually, it makes sense for the most avid Twitter users, with easier navigation and more customizability. However, as was expected, plenty of negative feedback has come Twitter's way. A search for "#NewTwitter" shows users from across the world wishing for the "old, more simple" Twitter.

As opposed to the Facebook redesign launches, though, which made users  quip years later that they wish they had the original Facebook interface back, expect tweeps to grow to appreciate the new design. The seamlessness in navigating between quick profile views, saved searches -- a new feature that will get plenty of mileage -- and other content is a lot more user-friendly than the simpler version of Twitter and will allow for a better content-sharing experience.
