The excitement surrounding Ken Burns' PBS series "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" may have come and gone, but Nationalparkstraveler.com keeps the spirit alive.

The sheer volume of content will delight park enthusiasts. To find such items as news that only locals might care about and first-person features from writers such as Jane Schneider (who was stalking grizzly bears in Yellowstone), it's best to dig right in and follow the trail of a topic that speaks to you. If you get lost, use the "Search" tab in the top navigation bar to quickly find a subject. We particularly liked the "Reader Participation Day" posts under "Recent Comments," which ignited discussion around questions such as: "What is the greatest threat to our national parks?" The website, founded in 2005 by Kurt Repanshek, is maintained by National Park Advocates Inc. in Park City, Utah.

One nit: Getting through the alphabetical menu under "Browse Content by Topic" is a chore because you can't jump to a specific letter in the lineup.
