Can't decide whether you can afford a trip abroad? Here's a site that creates a clearer picture of what a trip might cost.

PriceofTravel.com offers a snapshot of costs for accommodations, transportation, attractions, food and drink in more than 100 cities in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, South America, Central America and Australia/Pacific.

You might expect the site is just for budget travelers, but there also are average hotel prices listed for four- and five-star hotels, when applicable. As a bonus, it automatically converts prices into U.S. dollars. Don't miss the Backpacker's Index for 2011, which ranks the world's cities by cost based on a fixed set of typical daily expenses.

But there's no area for user reviews and comments, so travelers can report good finds. It does, however, encourage users to send tips.

If you need to budget down to the last dollar, you can discover what local bus rides cost as well as what you can expect to pay for breakfast, a cocktail in a nightclub or a movie ticket.
