Telephonics gets $60M Air Force contract
Telephonics Corp., a Farmingdale-based electronics defense contractor, said Wednesday that it has received a $60 million, multiyear Air Force contract to supply friend-or-foe identification and surveillance systems for AWACs reconnaissance aircraft.
The systems will provide real-time pictures of “friendly, neutral and hostile activity,” and “early warning of enemy actions during joint, allied and coalition operations,” among other things, Telephonics said in a statement.
The company is a subsidiary of Manhattan-based Griffon Corp. and specializes in airborne maritime surveillance radar and aircraft intercommunication systems.
