Hauppauge-based Teachers Federal Credit Union is offering a series of free business clinics starting Thursday.

The quarterly clinics, called TFCUniversity, aim to give Long Island small business owners the opportunity to meet with local business experts and learn how to better develop their operations.

The first event, "Secrets to Building Your Business on Long Island," will include a presentation by Susan Axelrod, founder of Love & Quiches Gourmet in Freeport, and a panel discussion with local CEOs.

"We are proud to host this event that will give the Long Island business community the chance to hear from experts on how to build a successful company," Robert G. Allen, president and CEO of TFCU, said in a news release.

The event runs from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. at TFCU's headquarters, 102 Motor Pkwy. in Hauppauge. For more information or to register, go to tfcu4u.org or call 631-698-7000.
