Hauppauge-based Teachers Federal Credit Union is offering members of Long Island's Spanish-speaking community an opportunity on Nov. 14 to learn how to build and maintain good credit.
Part of the credit union's quarterly TFCUniversity Business Clinic series, the clinic, "Buen crédito: Por qué es importante," or, "Good Credit: Why It Matters," will be conducted entirely in Spanish, and will teach attendees how to leverage good credit scores to buy homes, cars or pursue higher education.
"The American dream is not only about working and saving, it's also about maintaining a good name. We here at TFCU would like to educate Long Islanders in understanding the importance of having good credit," Robert G. Allen, president and CEO of TFCU, said in a news release.
The free event runs from 10 to 11 a.m. at TFCU headquarters, 102 Motor Pkwy. in Hauppauge. Breakfast will be served. For more information or to register, go to tfcu4u.org or call 631-698-7000.
