Tim Healy, 42, host of local business radio show "The Profit Express," got into radio after taking a compliment to heart.
The professional sales coach was using the radio studio at Hofstra University's WRHU / 88.7 in 2008 to record CDs for his training business when the manager of the station told him he had a voice fit for the airwaves.
Healy, a Sound Beach resident, took a liking to the idea, decided to take lessons to get certified to go on air, and proposed "The Profit Express," a weekly business-focused radio show with local and national experts discussing doing business on Long Island, for WRHU / 88.7.
Now, five years later, Healy will be celebrating the airing of his 200th show Wednesday night with a three-hour special from 6 to 9 p.m.. Healy will interview Barbara Corcoran, founder of the real estate firm the Corcoran Group and a judge on the entrepreneur-focused reality TV show "Shark Tank."
"It has exposed me to .?.?. celebrity entrepreneurs and great ideas I may not have been exposed to," he said of his experience so far. "And I’ve been able to take that knowledge and expertise and share it with my clients, that to me has been priceless."
