KEY EVENT: Double time. The State Labor Department on Tuesday posts Long Island unemployment rates for February. On Friday, the U.S. Labor Department releases the nation's jobs situation for March. This is the only time this year when national and local jobless rates are scheduled to be released in the same week.

MONDAY: Earnings from Eggland's Best distributor Cal-Maine Foods.

TUESDAY: Carmakers post motor vehicle sales for March. Also, the Institute for Supply Management releases its index on manufacturing activity for March, and the Commerce Department posts February construction spending.

WEDNESDAY: ADP issues its report on private-sector jobs added in March. Also, February factory orders from the Commerce Department. Earnings: agRiculture products maker Monsanto.

THURSDAY: Claims for jobless benefits for the week ended March 29 from the Labor Department. Also, the nation's trade deficit for February from the Commerce Department. And the Institute for Supply Management releases its March service-sector index, an update on businesses in nonmanufacturing industries such as retail and technology.

FRIDAY: In addition to the U.S. unemployment rate, the Labor Department releases data on hourly earnings and the average workweek in March.
