Tuesday. Long Island jobless rates for April from the New York State Labor Department. Also, existing home sales for April from the National Association of Realtors. The last two reports from the Realtors showed sales in the Northeast fell for two straight months. Earnings: AutoZone, Dell, Ralph Lauren.
Wednesday. New home sales for April from the Commerce Department and the Federal Housing Finance Agency's house price index for March. Earnings: Big Lots, Hewlett-Packard, Hormel Foods.
Thursday. Claims for jobless benefits for the week ended May 19 from the Labor Department and orders for durable goods for April from the Commerce Department. Earnings: Costco, H.J. Heinz, Tiffany & Co.
Friday. Consumer sentiment for May from the University of Michigan.
