Here are some stories that drew attention this week on the Inside Long Island Business blog.
-- This week we listed Long Island communities ranked by median income. The data comes from the U.S. Census, and this followed a story last week about four Long Island communities that landed in the Top 10 in the nation. (That's a scene from one of them, Plandome, above.)
-- We heard about one boss who picks up his workers when the weather gets bad.
-- We also found out about a survey of when promotions were most likely to strike.
-- A real estate company reported that very expensive homes in the Hamptons are selling better.
-- The Junior League is gathering business attire to give to women looking for work.
-- And some local bank companies said they were doing pretty well. Included were Astoria Federal, Flushing Financial, New York Community, Bridge Bancorp, and State Bancorp.
