A Utah software company that tracks rebuilding costs says tree removals on Long Island typically cost between $800 and $3,000.

The company, Xactware Solutions Inc., provides software for contractors to estimate rebuilding, repairing and remodeling costs. The company surveys contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to determine labor, equipment and material costs for specific regions of the country.

Mike Fulton, vice president of Exactware’s pricing data services, said in an interview that on Long Island, based on the most recently reported information, a tree removal costs are affected by the trunk’s diameter  and whether the fallen tree is “across the driveway or on the house."
