Correction: DOGE Dividend-Checks story

WASHINGTON — In a story published Feb. 20, 2025, about potential payments to U.S. taxpayers derived from spending cuts, The Associated Press erroneously reported an incorrect total in regard to stimulus checks previously issued, which should be $1,400, not $1,200. Also, the AP on a second reference misspelled the last name “Elmendorf.”
