Need extra cash to help pay bills related to superstorm Sandy?

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli is reminding local residents that his office has money the state owes them. It totals $416.4 million on Long Island.

A searchable database of unclaimed funds can be found at osc.state.ny.us/ouf/index.htm.

In Nassau County, the largest amount owed, $11.5 million, is to residents of the 11530 ZIP code in Garden City.

In Suffolk, the most is owed, $9 million, to residents of the 11746 ZIP code in Huntington Station.
