The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Local 40 and Local 361 of the Ironworkers union is taking applications for 100 outside ironworker apprenticeships, officials said.

Applications can be obtained at the Local 40 and Local 361 office, 35-23 36th St. in Astoria, Queens, from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays through May 16, excluding legal holidays.

A $25 testing fee in the form of a money order must be paid at the time an application is picked up. The fee will be waived for those who can verify financial need. Applicants also must present valid photo identification, proof of age and proof of completion of high school or GED courses when they pick up the application form.

Applicants must be 18 or older, pass a written aptitude test, take a drug test and be physically able to do the work. More information is available by calling 718-433-4195.
